After a bloody long wait, I finally got to see Australia's newest star on the horizon, strut his stuff in the UK. Against what can only be considered as moderate opposition, So You Think went to the stalls as a 2-13 favourite. As the price suggests, he was expected to win with a leg in the air. But none of that made the viewing any easier. I sat there crapping myself.
Whenever asked of the horse's progress, all that Ballydoyle would say, was that he was coming along nicely, with that came the news that he was having trouble being competitive on the training track. What was a man to expect?
So to the race. With a tear away pace up front, So You Think lobbed along on the bit, always looking in complete command. The race was never in any real doubt, but I must admit that for a few seconds, when the leader pinched an extra few lengths, that the race might be stolen. Thank God that brick walls exist. The leader hit one. The best part of the race for me, was when he was asked to lengthen. By this time, he had nothing to beat, but he strolled away with great authority. So You Think appears to have a future on the race tracks of Europe, but if he's to mix it with the best, in the major G1 events, he's going to have to be firing on all cylinders.

Morning Cyc, hope you are well mate. Certainly a very encouraging debut (never any doubt really - whatever you say about AOB he is not a destroyer of horses like that Bin Suroor clown). It looks like you'll be having a few late nights over the summer watching him in all the big races. Just make sure you tell the goood lady to get up quietly for her morning swim. mate

The good woman gets here swimming gear out the night before, and places them in the lounge. I don't sleep all that well, so I'm often awake when she leaves at 5am. I just roll over and then cruise through until about 11. As soon as I stir, the light of my life puts on the kettle and a muffin. I stagger out into the morning sunshine, and then contemplate my navel. What a life. Had another day at the beach, but had to scamper home as a thunder storm moved in from the country side. What a life! But I guess I must deserve it, or it wouldn't be happening. Is there such a thing as Karma?

Sounds perfect mate. I'm sure you did some good deeds in this and previous lives so you're getting your rewards. Talking of which, that's another classic Billy Connolly sketch. He's talking about suicide bombers and how they are told that when they get to heaven they will be surrounded by virgins. And Billy says "Fuck that, gimme 2 fire-breathing whores and a crate of whiskey". Brilliant
