The last day at Cheltenham is the usual minefield when looking for winners, but here are my thoughts.
1.30 will be between Zarkander (if it runs like it's last race it will win easy) and Unaccompanied, both are about 6/7-1 at the moment. Zarkander will probably go off favourite. Having said that, you can't rule out the Henderson horse Grandouet who has improved during the season, just be wary that Henderson has yet to saddle a winner this week.
PICK : Zarkander WON 13/2
2.05 For me this will be won by Alarazi, it won the big race at the weekend just gone easily and can improve on that win. Currently about 6/1. If you want a big price e/w I would be looking towards Hunterview, Praxiteles or Grey Soldier. You can't rule out Ruby Walsh ride on Final Approach either or the Gordon Elliott trained Dirar as the stable looks to be in good form.
PICK : Alarazi
2.40 The Fav is Bobs worth, but looking at the race I think it will be beaten. The Mullins horse Gagewell Flyer has a good young jockey and will be close but held up off the pace for a late run. For a big outsider try Fully Funded. Court In Motion also has a good chance and Our Island won well last time out.
PICK : Court In Motion 3rd 9/1
3.20 The biggie, really should be between Imperial Commander and Long Run. Kauto or Denman won't win for me. If the rain comes heavy then look towards Pandorama. Two lively outsiders at decent odds are Midnight Chase and China Rock
PICK : Pandorama (especially if it rains)
4.00 Hunter Chase, I'm crap at these sort of races, looks like Baby Run, who won this race last year will go close again. Would not surprise me if this won by a horse at big odds though and fitting the bill here are Templer, Zemsky and Theatre Diva.
PICK : Baby Run
4.40 A horrible race to try pick a winner in, you'd be better off throwing a dart at the paper! Having said that the trainer David Pipe would like the winner as the race is named in honour of his dad and so for that reason I would back Shoegazer. Astracad, King of the Night and First Point have all won races at Cheltenham before so maybe worth considering.
PICK : Shoegazer
5.15 Pigeon Island won this last year and he'll go close again but I don't think he will win. Nicky Henderson would like to win this for same reasons David Pipe would like to win the race before so Anquetta and Tanks For That can't be ruled out but henderson has yet to have a winner this year at the festival and so they may not win. I like the look of Pepe Simo, the mount of Ruby Walsh and it may give the win to be top Jockey at the Festival. Another to consider is Shoreacres, the ride of McCoy, this horse won't be bothered if the forecast rain comes.
PICK : Pepe Simo
